Tiki Traveling (on demand CD)
This started as the soundtrack to an upcoming documentary dvd on the subject of Tiki culture. The sound is classic exotica, with some 60s Surf and also modern Lounge vibes on 1 track. After one of my extremly rare public appearances Jochen of Living Room Pictures asked me, if I was available to create some music for his DVD-of-Tiki-project. What a question!

These eight tracks were composed and recorded for the soundtrack to the documentary DVD Armchair Travelling in the World of Tiki in 2005. Unfortunately this still hasn’t been released, but the pre-release reels are very promising. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity to record and compose Tiki-style Exotica and exotifying neighboring styles like guitar instrumentals and chill-out music as much as possible.

The Tiki & The Guitar features my first 12 solo recordings after The Looney Tunes Band disbanded. For this I went back to homerecording, a way of producing music I had practised from my early teens until recording the Looneys’ debut album. It’s all instrumental, but with lots of percussion, e-piano, organ and melodica along with the bass, drums and Surf-guitars.

Old School Skateboard Deck
